Glencree Journal Launch Webinar – Highlights

 

“Dealing with the Legacy of Conflict in Northern Ireland through Engagement & Dialogue” – Webinar to launch the Glencree Journal in conjunction with the Irish Centre for Human Rights at NUI Galway and Ulster University which features contributions from 19 academics and practitioners in the fields of peace studies and conflict resolution.

The Webinar keynote address was delivered by Professor Brandon Hamber, John Hume and Thomas P. O’Neill Chair in Peace based at the International Conflict Research Institute (INCORE) at Ulster University. Journal contributing authors Geoffrey Corry, Dr. Heidi Riley, Joseph Robinson and Ashle Bailey-Gilreath also spoke at the event.

Dr. Rory Finegan, Associate Professor, Maynooth University addressed the event on behalf of his colleagues on the Glencree Journal editorial team including Professor Ray Murphy of the Irish Human Rights Centre at NUI Galway, and Professor Patricia Lundy, Dr Niall Gilmartin and Dr Philip McDermott of Ulster University.

Hosted by the Glencree Centre for Peace & Reconciliation, the event was facilitated by Roberta Cappieri, Assistant Programme Manager of Glencree’s Addressing the Legacy of Violence Through Facilitated Dialogue Project, with opening remarks by Glencree Chair, Barbara Walshe and summary remarks by Roisin McGlone, Programme Manager.
