Ciaran McGivern joined the Board of the Glencree Centre for Peace and Reconciliation and assumed the role of Chair of the Audit & Risk Committee in March 2023.
A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland, Ciaran has over 40 years experience across a range of sectors.
He grew up and was educated in Belfast before moving to Dublin. He initially spent 10 years with PricewaterhouseCoopers before moving to the commercial semi-state sector where he spent 15 years with An Post in a range of senior finance and IT roles within the company. He then moved to the private sector where he worked in consulting and property development.
Up until his recent retirement, Ciaran spent 16 years in the education sector. This included 5 years as Director of Finance with the National College of Ireland where he had responsibility for the finance, IT, commercial and property functions. He went on to hold the position of Director of Finance of Dublin City University for 11 years with overall responsibility for the financial affairs of the DCU Group. He was also a director of each of the companies within the DCU Commercial Group.
