Ciarán Toland SC was appointed Chair Designate of Glencree in November 2023. He will assume the office of Chair in spring 2024.

Ciarán practises as a Senior Counsel at the Bar of Ireland and the Bar Library of Northern Ireland. He has a public law practice specialising in EU law. Ciarán also has particular experience in charities governance. From Lisburn, County Antrim, he was educated and lives in Dublin.
