Mary Curtin

Director

Mary is pleased to have been asked to return to the Glencree Board, having completed her first six year term as a Director in 2021. A veteran broadcaster, Mary’s career included fourteen years as a producer in RTÉ Radio 1. This was followed, in 2005, by the full-time post of Secretary of the RTÉ Trade Union Group, a position which involved her in protracted negotiations on pension, pay and working conditions throughout the financial crisis.

Since retiring in 2012, Mary has completed a Diploma in Mediation in the Kennedy Institute, Maynooth, and a Certificate in Governance with the IPA. She has a particular interest in the area of restorative justice and is a volunteer with Restorative Justice Services in Dublin, and also mediates with Community Law and Mediation in Coolock. She is currently a member of the Ethics and Standards Committee of the MII, the Global Solidarity Committee of ICTU, and is a Member of Honour of the NUJ.

Mary's previous board experience includes Mount Anville Senior School (Chair 2015-2018), Cedar House Nursing Home, Trocaire, Studies Magazine and the Irish Council of the European Movement.
