22/8/25: The Glencree All-Island Women’s Peacebuilding Network will gather again on Wednesday 4th September for a special edition of our Coffee & Collaboration virtual gatherings.
To open the autumn series, we are delighted to place the spotlight on The Missing Peace Project, a programme that many Network Members have been directly involved in and helped to shape. This makes September’s gathering a particularly meaningful opportunity to hear updates, exchange reflections and celebrate progress together.
The Missing Peace Project was a 31-month initiative, led by Glencree in partnership with organisations from Germany, Cyprus, Hungary, Lithuania and North Macedonia, which began in January 2023. This EU-funded Erasmus+ project, managed by Léargas, focused on finding new and creative ways to bring youth work and non-formal education into the heart of peacebuilding. Our upcoming Coffee & Collaboration will give members a chance to hear about the project and explore how the resources developed as part of this work can be used to strengthen youth participation, including young women, in peacebuilding and reconciliation efforts within their communities and further afield.
One of the key resources to be shared is the Missing Peace Toolkit. Co-designed and tested with young people, youth workers and community practitioners, including valuable contributions from our All-Island Network Members, the toolkit brings together 12 interactive activities that encourage dialogue, critical thinking and conflict resolution skills. From role-play and mock trials to creative storytelling and cultural workshops, it provides practical, adaptable methods to help young people engage with conflict in constructive ways. The toolkit is freely available to youth organisations, educators and community groups who want to support the next generation of peacebuilders.
Download a copy of the Toolkit in advance of our Coffee & Collaboration by clicking on the button.
We invite our members and women who are involved in peacebuilding and youth work in their communities to join this informative event which will be led by our Network Members and Missing Peace participants, Catherine Ferrin and Niamh Flynn.
For anyone new to the Network, Coffee & Collaboration is hosted each month by Glencree’s Women’s Leadership Programme. The sessions are intentionally informal, providing a chance to build relationships, share updates on work and explore possibilities for partnership and collaboration.
Advance registration is essential. Please register your interest by emailing helen.irish@glencree.ie. A Zoom link to the meeting will be circulated to all those who register in advance.
