15/3/23: Glencree Centre for Peace and Reconciliation is pleased to announce today the appointment of a new member to Glencree’s Board of Directors.
Ciaran McGivern, who is originally from Belfast, and now living in Dublin, has joined the Glencree Board of Directors as of 15th March. Ciaran has a wealth of experience in finance, IT, consulting and property. Ciaran has also assumed the role of Chair of Glencree’s Audit & Risk Committee. This new appointment brings Glencree’s Board membership to 10.

In addition to his commitment to the Glencree mission, Ciaran brings a breadth of experience in key focus areas such as Finance, IT, and Commercial Development,” Ciarán Ó Cuinn, Chair of Glencree said today. “His skills and expertise will be a great addition and complement to those of our existing Board members. We look forward to working with Ciaran and the rest of the Board at this dynamic time for Glencree, as we continue to progress our mandate of peace and reconciliation on our island.”
A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland, Ciaran has over 40 years’ experience across a range of sectors. He grew up and was educated in Belfast before moving to Dublin. He initially spent 10 years with PricewaterhouseCoopers before moving to the commercial semi-state sector where he spent 15 years with An Post in a range of senior finance and IT roles within the company. He then moved to the private sector where he worked in consulting and property development.
Up until his recent retirement, Ciaran spent 16 years in the education sector. This included 5 years as Director of Finance with the National College of Ireland where he had responsibility for the finance, IT, commercial and property functions. He went on to hold the position of Director of Finance of Dublin City University for 11 years with overall responsibility for the financial affairs of the DCU Group. He was also a director of each of the companies within the DCU Commercial Group.
