Glencree Centre for Peace & Reconciliation Announces Transition in Board Chair

 

The Glencree Centre for Peace & Reconciliation today announced that James Bridgeman SC has stepped down as Chair of the Board,

Tom Arnold, Glencree Board Chair

and that Tom Arnold has been appointed to succeed him in the role.

The Board and Staff of Glencree wish to place on record their deep appreciation to James Bridgeman SC for his outstanding leadership, commitment and professionalism during a period of significant challenge and transition for the organisation. As Chair, James steered Glencree with clarity and integrity through a difficult phase marked by change and sustained financial pressure, ensuring the Centre remained focused on its mission of peacebuilding and reconciliation.

The Board and Staff are delighted that James will continue to serve as a member of the Board, where his experience, judgement and counsel will remain a valued asset to the organisation.

Looking ahead, Glencree is pleased to announce the appointment of Tom Arnold as its new Board Chair. Tom has been a member of the Glencree Board since March 2024 and brings to the role decades of senior leadership experience across public service, international development, diplomacy and organisational governance. His deep understanding of complex institutions, combined with a lifelong commitment to peace, human rights and social justice, will be of immense value as Glencree enters an important new chapter.

The Board and Staff are honoured to have someone of Tom Arnold’s calibre take on the Chair’s role and are excited about the future of Glencree under his leadership.
