Glencree welcomes Mary Madden to the Board

 

31/1/20: Glencree Centre for Peace and Reconciliation is delighted to welcome Mary Madden to our Board. Mary recently retired after a long and successful career in the Northern Ireland Civil Service spanning over 35 years. A graduate of Queen’s University Belfast, Mary joined the public sector in 1979 when she qualified as a Solicitor in Northern Ireland. She began her working life in The Crown Solicitor’s Office where she practised law for twelve years.  In 1992, Mary moved to the Northern Ireland Office where, over the following twenty-one years, she worked to successive Prime Ministers, Secretaries of State and Ministers.  In 2010, Mary was awarded a CBE in the Queen’s New Year’s Honour List for her work as a political advisor to the Secretary of State.  Mary is married with two grown up children.
