Strengthening Democracy and Reconciliation

 

A panel discussion on strengthening democracy and reconciliation through ethical and respectful political discourse.

12/3/2024: The Glencree Centre for Peace and Reconciliation (Glencree) and the John and Pat Hume Foundation (Hume Foundation) will host a panel discussion on promoting more ethical and respectful political discourse as part of the Imagine! Festival of Ideas and Politics in Belfast next week.

The discussion, which aims to promote confidence in the political processes, encourage people to engage in politics, and further reconciliation and democracy, will take place in the Crescent Arts Centre Belfast at 12pm on Tuesday, 19 March 2024.

Among the speakers who will contribute to the discussion are: Cara Hunter MLA, East Derry; Councillor Linzi McLaren, Ards and North Down Borough Council; Alison Allen, NI Local Government Association, and a representative from the Jo Cox Foundation. During the event, a Civility Pledge will also be launched.
