Glencree & Louth Local Development announce LOUD Women initiative

Collaboration focused on women’s leadership and advocacy

3/10/24: Glencree has teamed up with Louth Local Development (LDC) to deliver LOUD Women, a leadership, communication and advocacy programme specifically for women in County Louth.

“Listen Openly, Understand, Develop” (LOUD) is an initiative of Glencree’s Women’s Leadership Programme in collaboration with LDC’s Social Inclusion and Community Activation (SICAP) programme.

Over the course of 6-weeks, LOUD sessions will focus on equipping women with the skills and tools to lead effectively, communicate confidently and advocate for themselves and their communities. The programme offers a safe community space to discuss community issues, develop practical solutions and build a network of like-minded women in Co. Louth and beyond.

Women in County Louth are invited to register their interest in this programme which will take place in The Barbican, Laurence Centre in Drogheda on:

  • 16th & 23rd October, from 10am – 1pm
  • 6th, 13th, 20 & 27th November, from 10 – 1pm
  • As part of the 16 Days of Action Against Gender-Based Violence (which gets underway from 25 November), an Information Session following the final LOUD workshop will be held at 1pm on November 27th. Guest speakers from local support services will participate in this event to help raise awareness about gender-based violence and coercive control and share information about services to support those affected by GBV in Drogheda and surrounding areas.

To register interest for the workshops running throughout October/November and the GBV Information Session on 27 November, please email: Amina.moustafa@glencree.ie or noirin.coghlan@lldc.ie.

These events are free to attend. As spaces are limited, early registration is advised.
