The Glencree Centre for Peace and Reconciliation is delighted to announce the appointment of Brendan Rogers and Ellen Roche to its Board of Directors, reinforcing Glencree’s governance as it enters a new phase of strategic growth across the island of Ireland and internationally.
The appointments bring a wealth of expertise in international diplomacy, public policy, executive leadership, governance, and strategic human resource management. Together, Brendan and Ellen will strengthen Glencree’s governance and support Glencree’s expanding role in peacebuilding, dialogue, and reconciliation at a time of increasing demand for its expertise both nationally and internationally.
Mr Tom Arnold, Chair of the Glencree Board, welcomed the appointments, saying:
“Brendan and Ellen each bring exceptional credibility to the Board through their distinguished professional careers, extensive leadership experience, and personal commitment to public service. They join Glencree at a particularly exciting time as we expand our peacebuilding and reconciliation programmes across the island of Ireland and internationally in response to the growing demand for our expertise.”
Brendan Rogers is a former Deputy Head of the Irish Diplomatic Service. During his distinguished diplomatic career, he served as Ambassador and Head of Mission to the Netherlands, Thailand (with accreditation to Myanmar), Uganda (with accreditation to Rwanda), and Zambia. He also represented Ireland at the International Criminal Court (ICC) and the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), bringing experience in international diplomacy, conflict resolution, and multilateral engagement.
Commenting on his appointment, Brendan Rogers said:

I have been aware of the importance of Glencree’s vision and achievements over the years and look forward to working directly with the Board and all the team as we move forward.”
Ellen Roche brings extensive expertise in executive search, leadership development, and programme management. She spent 24 years with PwC, where she led the firm’s Executive Search practice as part of its Human Resource Services team. Prior to joining PwC, Ellen managed a range of European Union and International Fund for Ireland (IFI) funded initiatives, overseeing programmes focused on capital investment and human resource development.

“It is a privilege to be part of Glencree’s ongoing work and to support the sharing of its perspective and expertise on the island of Ireland and internationally. Increasing its human resource capacity will be central to its future success.
