Policy Explained: A Guide to Brexit, The Protocol & The Windsor Framework

with Prof. Katy Hayward, Professor of Sociology, Queen's University Belfast

Wednesday 15th November 2023, 3-4.30pm. Online

Since the decision by the UK to leave the EU in 2016, two agreements have been reached between the UK and EU to safeguard the 1998 Good Friday Agreement, protect North-South cooperation and address the practical challenges faced by citizens and businesses in post-Brexit Northern Ireland: the Ireland/Northern Ireland Protocol and the Windsor Framework.

What are these agreements and how do they affect local communities?

We invite members of Glencree's All-Island Women's Peacebuilding Network, participants of our Women's Leadership Programme and women peacebuilders to join an online information session with Dr. Katy Hayward, Professor in Sociology at Queen's University Belfast. Professor Hayward will present the policy relevant to Brexit, the Protocol and the Windsor Framework in an accessible way, exploring what they mean and how it affects our communities.
