Dr Jacqueline Monahan

Jacqueline has worked in human rights and community development for 30 years in Latin America, Africa, the Balkans and across the island of Ireland.
Prior to working with Glencree, she coordinated the Roma Support Hub in Belfast, advocating for Roma rights and endeavouring to influence policy and supporting families from multiple nationalities across education, welfare, housing, and health contexts. Her work emphasised cross-sector collaboration and trust-building between institutions and Roma.
She has worked with small community groups, non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and large intergovernmental organisations such as the United Nations, the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and the International Organisation for Migration (IOM).
She has a BA in Anthropology, a MSc in Development Studies and a PhD in Law.
