Yunus is a communications and programme coordination professional with over 10 years of experience working across government, higher education, international development and community-based initiatives. Throughout his career, he has supported programmes that bring together communities, organisations and partners from diverse professional and cultural backgrounds.

Before joining Glencree, Yunus worked with the UK Ministry of Defence's Royal Air Force, supporting internal communications, knowledge management and operational coordination. He previously worked at the Rowett Institute at the University of Aberdeen, where he coordinated public engagement activities, community outreach programmes and events that helped connect research with wider audiences.

Earlier in his career, Yunus worked with the SACIDS Foundation for One Health at Sokoine University of Agriculture in Tanzania. There he supported multi-country, donor-funded programmes and coordinated engagement with universities, government institutions, international partners and local communities across the region.

His professional experience includes programme coordination, stakeholder engagement, digital communications, media relations, newsletter production, website content management, reporting and event coordination. Having worked internationally and with people from a wide range of backgrounds, he has developed a strong interest in communication as a tool for building relationships, encouraging dialogue and fostering meaningful participation.

Community involvement and volunteering have also been an important part of Yunus's journey. In Ireland, he has been involved with Cultúr Migrant Centre and community initiatives in County Meath, supporting migrant inclusion, intercultural activities and community participation. He has also contributed to community and cycling initiatives internationally, providing opportunities to connect and collaborate with people from many different backgrounds.

At Glencree, Yunus supports the PEACEPLUS NextGen4Peace project through programme coordination, communications, event delivery and stakeholder engagement. He is particularly passionate about the role of dialogue, participation and relationship-building in supporting peace, fostering understanding and strengthening connections between communities.

Outside of work and volunteering, Yunus is a keen cyclist and hiker who enjoys spending time outdoors and taking on new challenges. One of his most memorable achievements was reaching the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro.
