14/12/21: Glencree, in association with the Embassy of Colombia to Ireland, were honoured to host and moderate a discussion yesterday upon the 5th anniversary of the signing of the Colombian Peace Agreement. The event focused on the achievements and challenges that lie ahead as the peace agreement continues to be implemented in Colombia. Panelists included Presidential Counsellor for Stabilization and Consolidation, Emilio José Archila Peñalosa; EU Special Representative for Human Rights and EU Special Envoy for the Peace Process in Colombia, Eamon Gilmore; and Assistant Secretary at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Irish Ambassador to the UN (designate), Fergal Mythen.

 

The discussion was opened by Glencree CEO Naoimh McNamee, with welcome remarks by Ambassador of the Republic of Colombia, H.E. Patricia Cortés Ortiz, and moderated by Glencree Community & Political Programme Manager, Pat Hynes.
