24/2/21: The Glencree Intercultural & Refugee programme hosted an Online Learning Exchange based on themes from it’s ‘Belonging & Identity in the Second Generation’ project yesterday. Over 70 stakeholders from across a range of community groups & organisations, state agencies, the charity sector and local representatives from Wicklow County Council, the Bray Area Partnership and Wicklow PPN joined in the dialogue event.

Following a research presentation by Professor Frances McGinnity of ESRI, key issues that were discussed included integration strategies and social inclusion in local communities, anti-racism and anti-discrimination, labour market equality, second generation voice, leadership and role models. The high levels of engagement and participation highlighted the importance of ongoing dialogue in support of young people in second generation minority communities.
