The focus of Glencree's international shared learning work is to bring experiences and insights from the Irish Peace Process to international conflict contexts where identities are in deep contest within a defined space.

From East and West Africa to the Balkans, Turkey, Papua New Guinea, Colombia and the Middle East, the Political Dialogue team engages with peacebuilders, policymakers and civil society actors who see parallels between their own challenges and those faced on the island of Ireland.

The Good Friday Agreement and ongoing efforts to build and sustain peace in a divided society offer invaluable insights into the complex work of relationship-building and managing contested narratives. Drawing on our decades of experience in dialogue facilitation, trust-building and legacy work, Glencree shares lessons from Ireland’s peace process with others around the world facing conflict and division.

Our approach is to offer real-world insights and a guide to processes that others can adapt to their own unique contexts. In all cases, we listen as much as we share - recognising that learning is mutual and that solidarity strengthens peacebuilding efforts everywhere.

Through our facilitated dialogue work, our team also hosts regular dialogues with visiting Heads of State, Foreign Ministers, international NGOs and diplomatic representatives to brief them on the challenges and opportunities involved in post-conflict peacebuilding.
