With over 300 members currently, the network includes women leaders from many different backgrounds. This includes women from cross-community backgrounds in Northern Ireland, cross-border rural regions, and women who have lived through conflict in other countries and now call Ireland home.
Through the network, women of different generations, communities, cultures and ethnicities connect in a safe and supportive space. They build relationships, share experiences and learn from one another about peacebuilding and conflict transformation. Members also take part in events and activities that help amplify their voices in peace and policy discussions.
Women in the network are encouraged and supported to take part in shaping policies related to women’s needs and rights in the context of peacebuilding and post-conflict transformation. They are encouraged to take part in peacebuilding processes and negotiations to help ensure that women’s experiences are included in post-conflict decision-making.
